Hi Anna!! I loved reading this! that leap from observation to imagination is so hard, isnβt it? I think it will forever be my journey! I love how light and free these experiments are! The colours are so beautiful and I love how happy you sound when talking about them too! It would be amazing to see this transform into a book!! π€π€π€ xxxx
Oh youβre the best Ella! And oh my goodness I agree. I feel like it will be our endless struggle - and also endlessly interesting and motivating. Probably why i canβt imagine tiring of this work! Thank you xx
You create magic with your art and magic with your words, and the best is when they are linked together. Thank you for continuing to take us along on your journeys. Seeing the world through your eyes is one of my favorite discoveries in the past several years. <3
Anna, I love reading your posts. Taking in your art and thoughts relating to creativity, art and life leaves me with similar feelings of having a conversation with a good friend.
Thank you for this lovely comment! It is really nice to know you enjoyed reading them. I love writing about it all so it's truly so great to know it's worthwhile :) Thank you! x
Thanks Anna, loved hearing of your trip and joy at seeing something new. We are travelling in Uk for 3 months , currently in Princetown before heading to Edinburgh in mid Feb . Would dearly love to see snow here fort Christmas in Dartmoor but outer back up plan is Scotland snow and hopefully even a dog sled ride in snow. It has been very tempting to consider flying to Norway for some winter magic too, maybe on our next trip !
Thanks so much Sue! Glad you enjoyed the read. And also so lovely to hear you are enjoying the UK right now! Iβm actually in Cornwall for Christmas and itβs soooo mild! So Iβm sorry for the lack of snow. I will be hoping also for a snowy Jan and feb in Scotland! Fingers crossed.
Wow these are so beautiful and Iβm so pleased you felt that freedom to create!! Maybe something like this could be made into a zine instead of a story so you can keep the freedom and see where it leads? With much less pressure than a book! Just a thought! Thankyou so much for sharing π₯°
Thank you so very much for your lovely comment and idea! A zine is a lovely idea... although I kind of need to make it work for a book in order to earn some money! I might do this though if I can't make a book work out :) Thank you!
Ahh youβre lovely! Thank you! I may indeed make a zine we shall see :) thanks for the encouragement and yes, so annoying we need money! Imagine what we could make if we didnβt! β€οΈ
The stream running through it and ohhhh the little houses sprinkled in your art β¦ just beautiful! Thank you for this artsy and lovely break from my day!
Hi! I so loved your images on the train to Bergen in the winter. Last week I took the train from Oslo to Bergen and I spent 7 hours staring out the window with my eyes wide open. Itβs a magical place.
Ooh yay!!! Iβm so pleased you got to do that magical train ride! Iβm lucky enough to be going to do it again in October when my parents visit! Iβm so looking forward to it again. So pleased you got to see the magic!
So exciting to hear about the snow in Bergen and recreating the Norway that was already like your imagination. I'd love a place where people could ski from their doors and go from work onto lot trails. It *would be lovely to see this transform into a book, by the way.
Thanks so much Catherine, so pleased you enjoyed it! And gosh, wouldn't it be a dream to ski from work onto the trails! If only :) And thanks for the book encouragement too... I really hope I might find a way to make it something x
Hey Anna, Iβm always looking forward to your post - theyβre so inspiring! I love how you take us on an exploration with your beautiful photography and gorgeous illustrations. The colours and your playful expression are so beautiful.
It is as magical as Norway is, and you have captured it. We visited there for a summer road trip a couple of years ago, and we were also told how lucky we were because it was so sunny and warm! Winter must be an incredible time to visit too, though.
Hi Susan, This is such a lovely lovely lovely message to get, thank you! I never know when I share what people enjoy and so it's truly so lovely to know when you do. How wonderful to see Norway in the summer! I am actually luck enough to be going again this October, so I am really looking forward to seeing it in autumn. Thanks for your very lovely encouragement x
Oh this is so lovey to read. Thank you so much Kelcey! And sending wishes for a fabulous trip to Norway! I already want to go back... maybe in the autumn :)

I would pay for a Zine!! But yes obviously a book makes you more money and itβs annoying that we all need that!!

Such utterly beautiful magical illustrations - would love to have them as a series of prints and even more so in a book π₯°

So beautiful! Itβs so exciting to see your observation pieces against these imaginative play ones. I think itβs the colours for me that make it feel even more ethereal! So so beautiful π©΅
Thank you so much Orla! So pleased you enjoyed the comparison. They were very fun to make! I'm going to try to do more things with these colours :) x
The colors, the shapes! Gorgeous paintings! I'm headed to Norway later this summer and this has got me excited all over again.
